Christmas 2010 and New Year's 2011

Our Christmas break was a whirlwind of activity...we drove 26 hours one way from Colorado to Florida. Next time we're flying! It was a good visit though~ plenty of Christmas spirit and family time with those we haven't seen in a few years. All in all, a great trip.

Here's the whole family on Christmas Day

Not bad for two old married people :-)

The kids were so cute..looked like a magazine add for GAP..my what little posers we have!

We don't have too many father/daughters pics..love this one!

These two elves were very excited for Christmas morning

Frosty and Rudolph..couldn't resist dressing up for the occasion..lol

Ashley enjoyed her gingerbread house..I think she even made vampire gingerbread men..ahh teenagers

We had time for an NFL football game - Jaguars and Redskins..we lost in overtime and it was SO cold..we thought FL was supposed to be warm in December

Aunt Kathy and Uncle Earl sporting their camo snuggies..they look so cozy!

We love spending time with the Highsmiths

These are some peas in a pod!
We drove back home just in time for a fabulous New Year's ski weekend...NOT..the weather was so cold there was a warning not to go outside! It was -40 in the middle of the day and we were freezing, even with our gear on..we did little skiing, Jason was sick, and the diesel truck didn't like being that cold and sitting still. We did get in a sleigh ride at the ski resort, which was the highlight of our weekend.
We are definitely sticking together to capture body heat..good thing the cold weather was unseasonable or we might just have to move someplace warmer!
The kids shared a blanket on the ride..so cute to see them snuggling together and trying to keep their noses from freezing!
It was a New Year we will never forget

Aaaahhh, the mountains on the way back home..almost to our warm beds.
